This activity aims to promote environmental awareness and vocabulary related to recycling. Through a digital game and teamwork, students will learn in a fun and interactive way how to sort everyday waste correctly.
Objective:
The
objective of this activity is to foster environmental awareness by teaching
students, in an enjoyable manner, how to correctly sort and recycle different
types of waste in order to improve reading
skills and vocabulary.

Instructions:
To begin,
students will be organized into mixed-ability groups, and each group will
receive a computer to carry out the activity. Then, students will receive the
link to the game we have designed (see attached example) and will be asked to
begin playing to assess their prior knowledge.

“Match the object with the correct bin”
Organize a “Green Game Day” where students use tablets or computers to play
educational games about recycling.
Students
will drag and drop waste items into the correct bins (e.g., paper, plastic,
organic,. They must work together, discussing each item before making a
decision.
After
the game, each group will reflect on what they learned. The teacher can review
common mistakes and encourage students to explain:
“Why does this go in the
yellow bin?”
This promotes oral
production in English and
reinforces environmental responsibility.
