3. “Green Verbs Word Search”

 Presentation:

Hello everyone! In this activity, we’re going to work together with our students. It’s going to be exciting!

In the following activity, students will create a word search using Canva with verbs related to environmental conservation. This task will help them reinforce important vocabulary in a fun and creative way. Students can work individually or in pairs, and once the word search is ready, they will exchange it with a classmate to solve.

(Example verbs: reduce, recycle, reuse, save, protect, clean, plant, conserve.)

 

Objectives:

v  To identify and understand key English verbs related to environmental conservation.

v  To reinforce vocabulary through a fun and interactive word search activity.

v  To use digital tools (Canva) to design and personalize educational materials.

v  To promote creativity and collaboration through peer sharing of word puzzles.

v  To raise awareness of eco-friendly actions through language learning.

Materials: Laptops, pencils

Instructions:

v  Make a List: Write down 8 to 10 verbs in English related to environmental protection.
Examples: recycle, reuse, reduce, save, clean, protect, plant, turn off, conserve, pick up.

v  Open Canva: Go to www.canva.com and open a new blank page or choose a word search template.

v  Create Your Puzzle:

v  Draw a grid or use a table to place your words horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

v  Fill the empty spaces with random letters.

v  Add a title like "Green Verbs Word Search"(for example) and decorate it if you like!

v  Make a Word List: Below your puzzle, write the list of the hidden verbs for your partner to find.

v  Share & Solve: Exchange puzzles with a classmate and try to find all the words in each other’s puzzles.

v  Optional: You can print your word search or share it digitally with the students.

Activity:

2.      Use Canva to design their own word search puzzle including these words.

3.      Share their puzzle with a classmate, who will try to find the hidden words.

This activity combines vocabulary learning, digital literacy, and peer interaction in an engaging format.
